Marantz 2230 Stereo Receiver – Tested/Serviced, Working. All LED's + recap PSB

Description

This
listing is for a Marantz 2230 Stereophonic Receiver in excellent cosmetic and
functional condition, rated at 30 watts per channel @ 8Ω.
It has been tested/serviced and is
working.
It features Pre-Out/Main-In
jacks that allow separate use of these functions, as well as a simple way to
make use of a graphic equalizer or other sound processor equipment.
A pair of original Marantz jumpers are included.
All lamps have been replaced with LED’s for
long life and improved brightness. The Power Supply Board has been fully
re-capped.
A copy of the Handbook of
Instructions will be included.
The
following outline covers the testing/service work done:

All speaker connections have been tested and are
working, both right and left channels.
·
The tuner was tested using a simple wire antenna.
AM/FM radio stations were received as
expected across the radio dial. The dial pointer lamp was replaced with a white
LED lamp.
·
Tape and Aux inputs and outputs were tested and
function as expected.
·
Phono input was tested and functions as
expected.
·
Headphone jack was tested and is working.
·
All Switches and Potentiometers were flushed
with contact cleaner, followed by treatment with the appropriate DeoxIt treatment.
·
The faceplate, dial scale and all knobs were
removed, cleaned and hand polished.
·
The stereo bulbs were replaced with LED
style lamps.
·
All Meter and Radio Dial lamps were replaced
with Cool Blue LED fuse style lamps.
·
The light-diffusing Velum paper behind the radio
dial was replaced for color clarity.
·
Output transistors were removed, cleaned and
re-installed with fresh heat transfer compound.
·
The Power Supply Board was fully recapped using
quality capacitors.
·
Cleaning on all exterior surfaces was done to
improve appearance.
·
The foam cushioning used on the underside of the
metal top was replaced to ensure a better fit.
·
The power cord was inspected and cleaned.
·
Any missing top cabinet or bottom plate screws
were replaced.
·
All feet were inspected and replaced as needed.
·
DC Offset and Idle Current adjustments were set
to factory specification.
·
Watts/channel was checked using a Peak and RMS
Output Meter to meet/exceed model specs
·
A final extended use test was performed to
ensure functionality
